Four County Suicide Prevention Coalition
The mission of the Four County Suicide Prevention Coalition is to increase awareness,
decrease stigma, and increase people’s ability to seek help aimed at suicide prevention.
Depression is a medical condition that can effect a person’s mood, feelings, thought processes, and ability to interact with others.
Between 1,200 and 1,500 individuals in Ohio take their own life each year. However, recovery from depression is very possible, and is achievable.
Getting involved in the Four County Suicide Prevention Coalition is easy! Meetings are held the 4th Thursday of each month at 7:30am at the Four County ADAMhs Board in the conference room. For more information, call the ADAMhs Board at 419-267-3355.
Suicide Grief Support Group
Suicide Grief Support Group meets the 1st Thursday of each month in the evening and the 3rd Friday of each month in the morning to help make support accessible to everyone.
Our purpose is to:
- Acknowledge survivors’ pain in a safe environment.
- Offer encouragement from others who have lost a loved one.
- Teach healthy coping skills.
LOSS Team
The Four County LOSS Team responds to the home where new survivors are gathered. After a completed suicide, a team of 2-3 compassionate and trained volunteers are coordinated to respond to the home.
The goal of the LOSS team is to help new survivors feel supported from the very beginning of their tragic loss.
